Preservation & archives
Bringing together, conserving and documenting the largest Callas collection in the world, a testament to her work and to her life.
Maria Callas Endowment Fund
Preserving an exceptional legacy and nurturing the voices of tomorrow, in the spirit of rigour and emotion that was Maria Callas's own.
Our mission
Keeping a major artistic legacy alive and passing it on to future generations.
The Maria Callas Endowment Fund is the first international non-profit institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the work and legacy of Maria Callas. Founded in 2017 at the initiative of those close to the artist, it brings together and conserves the largest Callas collection in the world: manuscripts and correspondence, personal effects, stage costumes and jewellery, private recordings, personal films and several thousand original photographs.
Through the exhibitions, events and audiovisual productions it creates and supports, the Fund gives new resonance to this legacy and to the appreciation of bel canto and the operatic tradition that Maria Callas brought back to life.

The voice of the century
Maria Callas
One of the most celebrated sopranos of the twentieth century, Maria Callas (1923–1977) breathed new life into the great bel canto repertoire and transformed the art of operatic interpretation through the dramatic intensity of her singing.
The Foundation bears her name as a standard to uphold: that of art lived to the full, passed on with rigour and generosity.
